Regulation and Control of animal identification:
All measures are taken according REGULATION (EC) No 1760/2000 and REGULATION (EC) No 911/2004.
A team of Assistant Veterinary Support officer and Veterinary Support officer members is in charge to put ear tags on the births’ bovines and to report the new numbers to the office staff. Than the office staff updates the National Livestock Database. On farm another team composed of Veterinary Officer, Veterinary Support Officer and/or Assistant Veterinary Support Officer with a printout list (same list used for sampling and testing on farm) is in charge of:
Checking that the animals present on our list are present on farm
Verify any eventual incongruence regarding: 1. Age 2. Sex 3. Breed 4. Tampering of Tag 5. Missing animal 6. Animal not listed
All incongruence are then reported to the CONTROL UNIT.
Regulation and Control of animal movement:
All ruminants’ movements must be authorised by animal health section. The farmer applies the request form and the Veterinary Officer checking the animal welfare and animal health status authorises or refused the request.
If the request is accepted the Veterinary Officer issues a movement permit.

Movement document:
The Veterinary Affairs and Fisher issues a movement permit document though the National Livestock Database so that one or more bovine animals may move from one holding to another. This document is accompanied by a Movement Report Document which is signed by seller and buyer at the time movement takes place and subsequently will be recorded in the National Livestock Database.
